As a several decades long Practitioner of Somatic, Mind/Body Therapies, I have
long-held the belief that the body speaks and our job as practitioners is to
increasingly attune our listening skills. In my work, particularly with the heads,
necks, and shoulders of thousands of clients, I have held a strong, intuitive
sense that the conditions I’ve met in these bodies, such as tension, postural
patterns, and even pain that remains unresolved, could be the result of
unrecognized birth delivery trauma. This is particularly true when clients have no
known recall of another situation, injury, or event in their childhood or adulthood
that could be responsible.
